Minecraft: 14 Valuable Life Lessons We Can Learn (Creativity, Appreciation,…)

Last Updated on January 25, 2024 by Gamesver Team and JC Franco

Minecraft is often referred to as a sandbox game. Minecraft is an open video game where players can roam freely or complete objectives in the game. These are all the characteristics making Minecraft great for learning, but there’s more to it than that. We can learn several valuable life lessons from Minecraft by just participating in the game!

Minecraft teaches us that learning is fun, we only make life as hard as we decide to, having the most up-to-date things won’t make you happy, and people will always try to take your success away. Minecraft also taught us that one man could change the world, amongst many other things.

Are you a regular player of one of the most popular video games in the world? You are not alone! Let’s take a look at the 14 valuable life lessons we can learn from Minecraft:

1. Minecraft Teaches Us That Learning Is Fun

Minecraft has no demo tutorial and comes with no other reading materials. This means it is up to you as the player to determine what works and what does not, learning as you gain more and more experience in the game.

The difficulty of discovering new blocks and learning how to use them correctly makes Minecraft much more compelling, far more than it would be if it were easier.

2. Minecraft Teaches Us Life Is Difficult, But You Can Make It Better

There is not a single person who would argue that life is not difficult. However, Minecraft teaches us that it is up to you to make it easier with a little hard work and dedication.

However, this does not mean that you will not run into problems at some point in your life, but you can shift your focus to finding solutions to make it better!

3. There Will Always Be Positives Between The Negatives

It doesn’t matter how desperate and far-gone things may seem to you; you can always do your best to find your way out, looking at all the positive things along the way.

Even in your worst times, you can tap into your strength by staying true to yourself as you work through all the challenging problems life may face you with.

While it may be difficult for you to realize at the time, you will pull through and gain strength and experience while you do it, just like in Minecraft!

4. Having The Greatest And Latest Possessions Won’t Be Fulfilling

You have probably played many new games and noticed they feature the best and most advanced graphics.

However, even if these new games have the best specs and graphics, you may still think they are terrible.

You may think Minecraft, with its old-school graphics, along with the block-on-block design, isn’t regarded as the best of the best, but its gameplay is genuinely one of the most engaging ones you will ever find.

In the end, this relatively outdated-looking game blows some of the best newest games out of the park! The same is applicable when it comes to life.

Minecraft teaches us that even if you possess the best toys does not mean your life will be more fulfilling.

5. Do Everything To The Best Of Your Ability

It doesn’t matter if your goal is to build an enormous building or a family. The most important is that you achieve these things in your own time, with love and pride.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how big your house is or how much money you make. It’s all about your journey.

Minecraft teaches us that whatever you do with your life, do it to the best of your abilities and give yourself credit for even the most minor accomplishments.

6. People Will Always Try To Sabotage Your Progress

It does not matter what you try to accomplish; there will always be people who try to sabotage the progress you have made. Instead of people trying to help you or support you and stay out of your way, they will try to undermine what you do.

Some people will even try to put you down for trying something new in your life. This is a direct comparison to the monsters who come out at night in Minecraft, and you should handle them as you would people: do not pay them any mind and continue to work on your dreams and goals.

Your life is your own, and you’re working hard to achieve something valid!

7. Always Spend More Of Your Time Thinking

If you’re a huge fan of Minecraft, you have probably tried to build a big building or masterpiece, only ending up being thrown entirely off halfway through it due to not planning correctly.

The same should be kept in mind with anything in life, especially when it comes to the big problems. Remember to think about and plan out the most important projects with extreme caution.

Never just jump in without knowing your goal and where you’re heading, no matter if you’re in the thinking or planning phase.

8. Never Underestimate Yourself

You have probably been under so much pressure, and something began to feel like too much. Under the pressure of everything, you say, “I can’t achieve this?” this has probably happened more often than you can remember or count on your two hands.

The real world is full of opportunities, very similar to Minecraft. Several builders out in the real world have thought and even convinced themselves they will never be able to create one of these impressive buildings in Minecraft?

Then, they only end up accomplishing and ultimately succeeding in the same task simply by believing in themselves and working a bit harder.

The same is true when it comes to your life. Never underestimate what you can do if you put your heart and soul into it and believe in yourself and the process!

9. There Is Never An Excuse For A Lack Of Creativity

Minecraft is proof that you don’t need a billion-dollar phone or computer to let your creativity go wild!

If other Minecraft players can build unique worlds using nothing else but blocks, you can create your own masterpieces as well.

This is especially applicable in life, as it doesn’t matter what cards you are dealt. You can make a success of it!

10. There Is No Manual In Life

Minecraft doesn’t come with a guidebook, and life doesn’t either. You have to figure everything out as you go, and as you gain experience, you will get the hang of it!

11. One Person Can Make A World’s Difference

The concept of Minecraft was not created by a multinational corporate company but by one guy that goes by the nickname Notch.

If you think about this for a second, you might come to the realization that one person can indeed change the world as long as you have the motivation and the determination.

12. Always Be Kind To Everyone

If you’re a player of Minecraft, you have most likely come into contact with the villagers. They look incredibly funny, with squid-like noses and horrible brown outfits.

This villager may be the only guy who has those melon seeds you so desperately need, and if you are kind, you might just get them!

When it comes to life, you may need the help of other people. Being kind will give you an advantage, as you can never reach success independently.

13. There Is Nothing New In Our World, And That Is Fine

If you create something in Minecraft, the chances are that it isn’t as unique as you think.

However, this doesn’t mean you did not create something beautiful, and it should never demotivate you from doing your best.

14. There Is Always Hope

In Minecraft, you can grow cacti and source mushrooms in an underground hellscape. This is a direct comparison that you can always find something fun to do, even if you live in the most boring neighborhood or town.

Always look harder to find the positive sides in something, and never give up.

Last Word

As you can see, we indeed learned a lot of valuable life lessons by simply playing Minecraft. It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular player or just started your journey in the world of Minecraft. You can always learn multiple life lessons you can use in your everyday life!
